In Memoriam
I received this unexpected email from a Greg Draven.
I’ll let the email speak for itself…
“This is going to be a strange email.
“I would like to inform you of a very sad event that occurred on 14/02/2004 @ 2:11am.
“Ian and Sarah Freemen were driving home to Eastbourne from Brighton after attending a Friday 13th party.
“On the way home they were involved in a serious accident. An oncoming car lost control and ploughed straight into the front of Ian and Sarah’s car killing them instantly.
“The reason I tell you this is that Ian and Sarah were regular attendees to the WGW and always regaled us with stories of antics and fun.
“Their funeral was held a few weeks ago. Their song they were sent off to was Lovecats by the Cure. This was the first song they EVER danced to and I had the pleasure of being the DJ at their wedding who played it for them.
“Their ashes are going to be taken to Whitby and sprinkled.
“I enclose a picture of the two in the hope that you may be able to place it up on your website as an everlasting reminder of the couples love for each other.
“Ian was a very very good friend of mine throughout school And I believe that part of the person I am now is because of him. Sarah was a lovely happy girl who made Ian the happiest man alive. I miss them both so much.
“I hope to come to the WGW with my young lady and see what all the fuss is about.
“Yours.
“Greg Draven”
Let’s show Greg and his friend what the WGW’s about, and why Ian and Sarah had such a good time there.
