April 2008 full lineup

The final two bands for april 2008 are now in the bag. In addition to bands already announced we have the fantastic superstar laden Mercurine from the US and a warm return for Battle of the Bands winners Dyonisis

This gives us the full lineup as follows :-

Clan of Xymox (http://www.myspace.com/clanofxymox)
Star Industry (http://www.myspace.com/starindustrymusic)
Skeletal Family (http://www.myspace.com/skeletalfamily)
Mercurine (http://www.myspace.com/mercurine)
Screaming Banshee Aircrew (http://www.myspace.com/screamingbansheeaircrew)
Cauda Pavonis (http://www.myspace.com/caudapavonis)
Snuff Radio (http://www.myspace.com/snuffradio)
Dyonisis (http://www.myspace.com/dyonisis)

See how we’ve kindly done all the hard work of writing the bands name without spaces after http://www.myspace.com/ for you so you can just make with the cutting and the pasting (made them into links for clicking ease - Axy666)

Can I have a rest now Mum? ;-) (No you can’t Eris - Get booking October’s bands :P - Axy666)

Please Help!

Many of you out there may know, or had the pleasure to meet, Mel (Lucy*Fur), who amongst other things is an integral part of the Whitby Goth Weekend Festival. Over the past 7 years she has organised and promoted Creamy at the Metropole on a Thursday, as well as being the DJ-coordinator & resident DJ for the Spa, Metropole, & every official WGW event. More recently she has taken on the responsibility of running all Metropole events, plus doing the odd shift of Duty Manager the Spa!

She has also been a key component in raising many funds for Charity in much of her work as a promoter in general.

Mel was diagnosed with Cancer in 1996 and underwent treatment and the Cancer was in remission.
Sadly, things have taken a turn for the worst and Mel recently received the news that not only has the Cancer returned, but that it is now incurable and she has been given just a year to live.

Mel is determined to fight this thing, but unfortunately (like many of us) does not have the funds to subsidise this.

Consequently, a fund has been set up in order to help Mel with funding travel and treatment abroad, (which will cost many thousands), and to make what time she has left more comfortable for both her and her family.

One of the things Mel would like to do is to hug a Tiger in Thailand or America, and it is hoped that enough funds can be raised not only to help her explore possible treatment overseas, but to facilitate this dream.

More details with regards to this, and how you can help by making a donation (no amount too big or small) can be found on Mel’s MySpace profile http://www.myspace.com/_lucyfur_

If there’s anything you feel you can to help, please contact Mel and check out her MySpace Blog as I’m sure she’d appreciate any help that you may be able to provide.

Thank You

The WGW Team
