Further to our recent announcement regarding “rogue” bookings of our regular WGW venues,please could I take this opportunity to thank everyone for their messages of support during this turbulent time. The level of support and offers of assistance have been truly overwhelming.

Regrettably, Scarborough Borough Council have informed me that as a contract has been signed with Sam Hoyle (regardless of how it came about) they do not feel in a position to cancel the Leisure Centre Halloween 2009 booking as this may leave them open to legal action themselves.

Whilst I appreciate the passion and depth of feeling many of you are currently have. Further to recent online postings, I wanted to stress that I cannot condone any kind of boycott of the Leisure Centre or any underhand tactics in dealing with the current difficulties. Those who know me, know that dirty tricks are not my style.

Myself, my customers and supporters have always acted with dignity and integrity. Thats why Whitby locals love us so much! So lets continue to rise above the current difficulties knowing that truth will out.
