Travel From Abroard

From Holland (and possibly other places in continental Europe):

“Fly to Leeds with Jet2. Catch a train to Scarborough and then the bus to Whitby. This, I find, is the most comfortable and easy route to the festival. You can also take the boat to Newcastle and then the train down to Whitby via Middlesborough. But this takes longer and is more expensive generally.”

From Ireland:

“1) If at all possible don’t fly into Teeside unless you can hire a car. Yes it is the closest airport to Whitby but it is also the badly served by way of public transport. I would reccomend flying into newcastle. The train is direct from newcastle to Middlesborough and there are regular trains so it should be easy to time it for a train to Whitby. Alternatively fly to leeds and get the bus direct to whitby.
2) The banks are down in the town and most will take any european card. if you are coming from the states I would advise bringing a Visa card in case you need extra cash.
3) English measures are small. when ordering a vodka/gin/whiskey etc bare this in mind. The only place to sell proper (irish) measures is the resolution.”
