Action Directe
From the Action Directe web site:
Industrial Punk shock troops Action Directe were formed in Leeds in 1997 by Joel Heyes and Phil Hanlon, which saw a direct collision of Joel’s Strummeresque punk assault and Phil’s leftfield beat manipulation. Debut release Legitimate Military Targets (EP, May 2000) demonstrated a hard edge and a hardline, combining the brutal rhytmic broadsides of eighties EBM with the frenetic guitar assault of punk. This unique crossover of industrial beats and hardcore punk guitars, coupled with the band’s uncompromising leftist polemics, meant Action Directe have appealed to both the mohawked, rivetheaded, skinheaded and backcombed alike ever since, attracting a variety of labels from ‘cybergoth’ to ‘electroclash’.
